DEVELOPMENT OVER TROPHIES
This season, Genesis Hoops is taking a different approach to club basketball.
Players will be selected and placed on teams, but the season will not begin with a traditional team format. During the first phase, players will compete primarily through 3-on-3 and other small-sided games.
Fewer players on the court means more touches, more decisions, more opportunities to compete, and greater accountability for every player.
HOW THE SEASON DEVELOPS
TEAM CONCEPTS | SEPTEMBER–NOVEMBER
How we play comes first. Players learn spacing, movement, reads, communication, and team decision-making through 3-on-3 training and other small-sided games.
SKILL GROWTH | DECEMBER–MARCH
A greater focus on individual development. Players receive more touches, more repetitions, more decisions, and targeted instruction in smaller training groups.
FULL COURT | APRIL–JULY
Everything comes together at game speed. Players apply their development through transition play, defensive pressure, competitive tournaments, and select showcase opportunities.
